Aged care data snapshot 2018

On the 30th of June 2018, there were around 3.9 million Australians who were aged 65 years or over. As Australia’s older population continues to grow, it is important to understand the characteristics of people using aged care services and how they use these services.

The following dashboard presents key figures from the Department of Health’s Aged care data snapshot, including the characteristics of people who are using aged care and where different services are being used, how people are entering aged care, residential places in aged care and government spending on aged care.

To download and print, click on the 'Download' button at the bottom right of the dashboard. Select 'pdf' and set the paper size to A4 and the scaling to 60%.
