GEN aged care website launched 15 August 2017
| The new aged care data website, GEN, was launched at Parliament House on 15 August 2017 by the Minister for Aged Care, Ken Wyatt AM, MP. Minister Wyatt said the new GEN website provides a comprehensive one–stop shop for data and information about aged care services in Australia. ‘Australians value quality information on our aged care system, but it hasn’t always been readily available or easy to understand,’ Minister Wyatt said. |

‘The GEN website uses simple and easy to understand language to report on capacity and activity in the aged care system focusing on the people, their care assessments and the services they use. ‘It is designed to cater for all levels of users, from students looking for information for assignments, to academics and aged care service providers seeking high quality data and analysis. |
| ‘Each section of the website provides an overview with infographics and factsheets on the topic, and gives users the option to explore the data in greater detail.’ Minister Wyatt said GEN is Australia’s only central, independent repository of national aged care data and it is a great resource for those looking to find out more about the aged care system. |

The National Aged Care Data Clearinghouse was established in 2013, with the aim of increasing the availability, accessibility and coordination of aged care data. |
